"Anyone can learn to draw and paint". Teaching students how to "see", and open up to realise everything is a combination of line and space, tone and colour, perspective and proportion, balance and rhythm.
Primarily Nina's courses are practical, informative and are tailored to meet individual goals and abilities. Though the pace of this course is moderately fast moving it is designed for enjoyment and relaxation giving students time to explore their creative ability. Courses look at all stages of working a piece - from the initial concept to the finished work.
Nina gives step by step demonstrations in different styles and disciplines - oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, charcoal, pen and ink and pencils.
Beginners are encouraged to explore different mediums. More advanced students may opt to work in their preferred medium. Subject matter is mixed to include still life, interiors, scenery, animals, people and street scenes etc.. Basic drawing, composition, colour mixing and painting techniques are covered. More experienced students may wish and will be encouraged to explore their personal expression, through their own choice of work where Nina will guide and advise.
Fee includes all materials, use of equipment and complimentary tea / coffee.
Nina holds courses in Maynooth Co. Kildare throughout the year, starting January, March / April, September and November.
Nina has a passion for making every moment fun and interactive. Her enthusasiam and love for learning ensures that there is never a dull moment. Children have the opportunity to explore and broaden their imaginations, learning skills using a wide range of materials.
Courses are suitable for complete beginners and experienced children. All courses involve making a project suitable for the class age group (junior-senior infants and 1st-6th class children) . Every term provides children with a selection of new projects.
A diverse course, painting and drawing projects may include; print and pattern making, cartoon drawing, still life, scenery, people and animals etc. Using pencils, charcoal, colouring pencils, markers, pastels, watercolours, acrylics or oils.
Craftwork projects both two and three dimensional may include; clay, paper mache, collage, constructing three dimensional models, fabric work, weaving, printing, bead work. Craft work projects are made from a wide range of materials, wood, natural materials, recycled materials, beads, polystyrene, cardboard, coloured paper, wax, etc..
Fee includes all materials, protective clothing, a progress report and complimentary treats / art gift on the last day of each course.
Nina teaches courses for children throughout the year starting January, March / April, September and November as well as week long Summer camps.
