"Creating has always been my centre. It captures me completely. Focussing my being entirely on a concept, moulding line and colour or shape and form into being. Contemplating the story to be told. In essence I love to paint."
Born in Dublin Ireland, Nina presently lives and works in County Kildare. She is an accomplished artist with over 25 years experience painting and teaching art to both adults and children. Nina became a member of the Watercolour Society of Ireland at the age of twenty, she is also a memeber of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club and the Kildare Artists. Nina takes part in juried, group and gallery exhibitions throughout Ireland.
"I work mostly in watercolour and oils. I like the extremes - the crisp transparent clarlty of watercolour and the luscious heavy textues of oil paint.
Mostly I find inspiration in fleeting moments where the light plays on a subject capturing its mood. I'm attracted to sunlight and its energy and the dynamices of light and shade.
My style of painting was developed with an emphasis on strong shapes and tonal values where warm harmonious colours build movement and rythm.
Themes I like to paint are varied and include land and waterscenes as well as people, interiors and still life. Creating pieces that are very personal and unique."
